A trapped toddler at Hawke's Bay Airport was freed after emergency services came to his aid on Thursday.
Napier fire service and St John ambulance were called to the scene at 7.15pm. A St John spokesperson said the 20-month-old boy had moderate injuries and was treated at the airport.
An Air New Zealand spokesperson said the toddler climbed onto the stationary luggage conveyor belt at check-in where an arm and leg became partially stuck in the divider between check-in and the baggage storage area.
She said he was safely removed and assessed by medical staff as having minor bruising.
She declined a Hawke's Bay Today request for a picture of the area that trapped the toddler.
