A Wellington man with an extensive history of dishonesty has been sentenced to community work for eight different petrol drive-offs.
Jason White, 40, stole $377.01 worth of petrol from six different gas stations between September last year and this February.
White currently owes around $5500 in fines, having most recently been convicted for shoplifting last year.
He pleaded guilty to all eight charges of theft in the Wellington District Court this morning, saying he was just low on money at the time.
White was ordered to serve 80 hours community work and repay the value of the petrol.
