A British bookmaker has set Kiwi heavyweight Joseph Parker as an $9 outsider if he were to face Anthony Joshua this year.
Joshua became IBF, WBA and IBO heavyweight champion following a knockout victory over Ukrainian Wladimir Klitschko on Sunday. Joshua defeated 41-year-old Klitshcko after 11 rounds in British boxing's biggest bout to extend his winning streak to 19 fights. Klitschko's record now stands at 64 wins to five losses.
Parker, holder of the WBO heavyweight title, will meet huge Romanian Razvan Cojanu, nicknamed "Bigfoot", on Saturday at Manukau's Vodfone Events Centre.
Bookmaker William Hill has a Klitschko rematch as the odds-on favourite as Joshua's next fight, set at $3.
A potential Parker-Joshua clash is fourth on the list, behind WBC champion Deontay Wilder ($4) and Bulgarian Kurat Pulev ($4). A highly anticipated clash between Joshua and fellow Brit Tyson Fury is set at $11.
