It was a matter of revenge for Wanganui man Abdusalam Mohamed Atwir when he chased another man down the road before smashing his car windows.
The complainant, Jeffrey John Henderson, had allegedly earlier damaged Atwir's car with a tomahawk.
Henderson arrived on Atwir's doorstep after the alleged offending on Mondayand an argument began, police prosecutor Sergeant Drew Morrison told the Whanganui District Court.
The argument ended with 49-year-old Atwir chasing Henderson down the street, then returning to his property to smash two of Henderson's car windows with a vacuum cleaner pole.
"I smashed the window because he smashed mine," Atwir told police.
