Standing at 2 metres tall should have its advantages in the kickboxing ring, but Kyle Gallacher's height actually works against him.
The problem for the 203cm Gallacher is that nobody wants to fight him.
He has had one fight, in December last year, which he won convincingly and since then he has been resigned to the training hall.
"I've had a lot of fights that were cancelled, so I'm just really keen to get in the ring with whoever," Gallacher said.
In fact seven times now the former Wanganui High School student has turned up to an event to find out his fight has been cancelled.
It's something that leaves him less than impressed. "It's very frustrating. I make a lot of sacrifices. I don't drink, I dedicate a lot of time to it and when you don't get fights it can be quite disheartening, but I will keep training anyway because it's such a lifestyle."
Because he only weighs in at 82kg, Gallacher is often up to 25cm taller than his prospective opponents.
But because they constantly back out, he is left to continue training, although he has no plans to put on some weight so he can take on opponents in a higher weight class.
"Right now I'm happy with the weight that I'm at. I'm looking to fight the best in New Zealand.
"There's no point in training if you're not going to fight, so all the guys out there, they should want the challenge, really.
"Bring it on. I'll fight anyone," he said.
He has also has a message for the people who backed down from getting in the ring with him: "Toughen up."
Gallacher is another one of the top fighting prospects training at Derek Broughton's gym and Broughton is full of praise for the 20-year-old Gallacher.
"We chucked him in his first fight ever - no ring experience - and he fought a guy who's been to Thailand [to fight] three times and had 12 amateur fights, and he sent him to hospital with a broken nose and an 8-inch gash down his shin," Broughton said.
"That showed the strength of the boy. He's going to be a legend."
Broughton also said aside from the obvious physical prowess of his young fighter he has the right attitude too. "He's humble. He's very, very humble - and that's the one thing I like as a trainer: that while you'd like your boys to be good fighters, it's not all about teaching guys to fight. It's about being humble."
Broughton is hoping to have an opponent for Gallacher at an event in Auckland on March 14.
