Whanganui's Purnell St blocked off as crews battle small shed fire

Purnell Street in Whanganui is temporarily blocked off due to a fire at a residential property.

Emergency services were alerted to the shed fire around 2.30pm on Monday.

Purnell St is currently blocked just outside Whanganui High School as crews work to extinguish the fire.

Two fire engines from Whanganui are in attendance.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
