Whanganui Girls College

On Friday night, Whanganui Girls' College placed third in the 2017 Stage Challenge held at Palmerston North's regent Theatre.

College deputy principal Nita Pond, who was teacher in charge, said she and the girls were really pleased with their result.

"The girls were really stoked, and I was, too. They all stepped up to the challenge, and it brough the girls really close together. They are keen to do it again."

The competition is a combination of dance, drama and design, giving secondary school students a chance to shine on stage.

Waiopehu College won and Central Hawke's Bay College took second in the overall open division.
