Andrea du Chatenier is one of three Whanganui artists who have made the finals of the Wallace Art Awards.
Three Whanganui artists are among the finalists in this year's Wallace Art Awards.
Andrea du Chatenier, Mark Rayner and Brit Bunkley were included in the 88-strong finalist group, selected from 371 entries.
The finalists have been selected by the 2016 judges - Andrew Clifford, Georgina Ralston, Philip Trusttum, Richard Maloy
and Sam Mitchell.
All finalists' works have been taken to the Pah Homestead in Auckland, where the second round of judging will take place. The judges will select the award winners. Some of the works will be selected proportion of the works will be shown as part of the Award Winners & Travelling Finalists exhibition, with the balance shown in the Salon des Refusés.
The Annual Wallace Art Awards aim to support, promote and expose New Zealand contemporary art and artists. Sir James Wallace established the Annual Wallace Art Awards 25 years ago. These awards are now the longest surviving and largest annual art awards of their kind in New Zealand, with a value amounting to more than $200,000.
