The water bore damaged by lightning.
Wanganui's water supply is back to full service just over a week after a lightning strike took out one of the three pumps at the Kai Iwi bores north of the city.
The district was hit by a series of strikes on the night of June 2 and one of
them blew out the transformer that delivers power to one of those pumps.
Wanganui District Council senior engineering officer Dave Rudolph said the transformer had been repaired to get the site reinstated, and it would be replaced in the next few weeks.
He said power was reinstated the day after the lighting struck after internal checks had been carried out.
"As of Thursday morning, No3 bore was fully operational."
