Storybook characters come to life

Nicole Kenny, three, was quite content to get a lollipop ? and not a chocolate factory ? from sweets tycoon Willie Wonka at the Great Storybook Character Hunt on Saturday.
The Queen's Park event was part of a chock-a-block Wanganui Library programme set up to coincide with the New Zealand Post Book Awards last week.
The children were asked to track down well-known book characters hiding around the park ? including Little Miss Muffet, Mrs Wishy Washy and the Tin Man ? and find out who they were.
The children were also eligible to win spot prizes.
