A woman will do community work for stealing a children's playset from a friend's yard.
Melissa Barbara Anderson took a plastic children's slide set and a swing ball set from her friend's property between September 28 or 29 while the friend was away, police prosecutor Sergeant David Grey said.
Another
friend noticed the items missing on September 29, and, while driving past Anderson's house, saw the stolen sets in her front yard, Mr Grey told the Whanganui District Court on Tuesday.
The friend tried to contact the victim to let her know what had happened. Meanwhile, Anderson sent the victim a message saying the victim's ex-partner had stolen the sets.
Police searched Anderson's property and recovered the items.
