Convicted sex offender Alan Rubick will be sentenced in the High Court - and preventive detention may be considered.
Rubick turned his back on Judge David Cameron in Whanganui District Court yesterday because he did not want the Chronicle photographer to take his picture.
He stood with his back tothe court yelling that he was "not turning around", even when the judge and his defence lawyer Stephen Ross told him to. Rubick was convicted on one charge of indecent assault on a boy under 12, three sexual violation charges, one count of indecent assault on a boy aged 12-16, 11 counts of indecent assault on a young person, and 11 counts of indecent assault on a child, as well as 20 charges of possessing objectionable material.

There were several charges Rubick had pleaded not guilty to, and Crown prosecutor Harry Mallalieu said they would invite the High Court judge to discharge them.
