A pedestrian who was hit by a car in Whanganui East on Thursday is in a stable condition in Whanganui Hospital.

The 80-year-old woman was hit by a vehicle on Anzac Pde around 10.30am on Thursday and taken to hospital in a serious condition.

A spokesman said she remained in hospital on Friday with moderate injuries.
