A new cafe will be opening in Egmont St in Patea on Thursday August 24.
The chosen shop is already a cafe on the corner next to Hurleys the butchers.
Former Huntly couple Stephen and Charlotte Rush are thrilled with their decision to move down to Patea six months ago.
They owned property in Huntly that sold well and they had had their food caravan business set up on the main highway north.
"Business was always good but the north is getting very busy and crowded and we really wanted to get away.''
They discovered Patea and just the right house advertised on internet, he said.
They set their food van up on the edge of the town outside the tyre centre and business had been quite good, he said.
"We would have preferred to be right in the middle of town but there was no parking available. None of the shops wanted us outside.''
After thinking about it for a while the couple decided to go for the cafe option instead.
"We'll call it Kings and Queens and Charlotte is a really wonderful cook.''
Stephen said he is also a registered secondhand dealer so they will also sell an array of second hand gear as well.
"Initially we'll open Thursday, Friday Saturday and Sunday and see how it goes".
As soon as people realise how good the food is the word will go out, he said.
"We love being here in Patea and we've got the food van on the market so we're ready for business.''
