Think you can out-shoot netball legend Irene van Dyk?
Well, the ace Silver Ferns shooter - all 1.9 metres of her - will be in Whanganui on Saturday on a mission to promote the Masters Games.
And young and old are welcome to take her on in a shoot-to-win competition.
Van Dyk, the most capped netballer of all time, will be at David Jones Motors in Victoria Ave from 11am to 2pm.
She will be encouraging people to sign up for the New Zealand Masters Games in Whanganui next year, having been invited here by Games sponsor Suzuki. Registrations are now open at an early-bird price of $45 and they will go up to the standard $60 from November 1.
And van Dyk will be showing off her shooting skills at the hoop, and giving away a few prizes.
The event is open to all, and prizes include a signed Central Pulse uniform (van Dyk is now playing with the Pulse after many years with Waikato-Bay of Plenty Magic), an autographed ball, posters, wristbands, caps - and even the chance to win back the cost of your Masters Games registration.
The NZ Masters Games will be hosted here from February 3-12 and will feature more than 50 sports from archery to yachting, with the likes of badminton, football, snooker, petanque and even rock 'n' roll dancing in between.
