Wanganui has a higher divorce rate and lower incomes than the general population.
These are just a few of the statistics to come out of the 2013 Census, and they will be presented at a public forum in Wanganui next week.
Victoria Treliving from Statistics New Zealand said staff werecurrently travelling towns and cities throughout the country presenting statistics about the census.
We want to inform people about whats happening in their communities, and let them know how they can use the census data.
The forum will be held between 9am and 11.30am on Thursday, June 5. There is no cost to attend.
Ms Treliving said the first hour would be used to present Wanganuis census data, while the second hour was devoted to showing people how to navigate around the Statistics New Zealand website to find information.
The most recent census was held in March 2013, seven years after the previous one.
The census answers the questions: how has the area changed in the last seven years, and what opportunities are there? Ms Treliving said.
