Kapa haka kids

WINNING KOHANGA: These Wanganui warriors from Te Heti Kohanga Reo wowed the judges at a regional festival so much they won the kapa haka section. They did it by striking stances like the one modelled by Tipene Reweti (pictured). The under-fives joined other kohanga from around Wanganui-Taranaki for a day of sport and performance at the ASB Stadium in New Plymouth. The children travelled to Taranaki last Tuesday and stayed overnight at Muru Raupatu marae.
