The man who was shot twice by police in central Whanganui last week has appeared in court.
It's also been revealed the gun he pointed at police was a replica.
Wattie Adolf Kahu appeared in Whanganui District Court yesterday facing charges including burglary, aggravated burglary and kidnapping. He entered no
plea.
The 49-year-old limped in and out of the dock, muttered towards the public gallery and waved as he left.
Firearms charges were withdrawn by police and Judge David Cameron remanded Kahu in custody to reappear on April 12 for pleas to be entered.
