A Marton building severely damaged by fire in March is for sale.
The building in High St that used to contain the Fork n Spoon Cafe is on the market for $60,000.
The cafe was burnt after cigarette ash set rubbish at the rear of the building alight.
The fire
blazed up a wall and across the top floor of the cafe, gutting the entire floor. The bottom of the building sustained little damage but the cafe stopped trading after the fire.
The Chronicle could not contact the cafe owner, Phil Pawson, yesterday but a story in the Rangitikei Mail said Mr Pawson was not planning to open up anywhere else and that the business had been for sale before the fire.
