Hospice Whanganui Boutique holding shop window morning tea for special guests

The window of Hospice Whanganui's boutique will come alive when the mannequins are replaced with a morning tea gathering.

On Monday, October 29, Whanganui Mayor Hamish McDouall will join representatives of Hospice Whanganui's Board of Trustees, Hospice Whanganui Foundation, Farming Friends of Hospice Whanganui chairman Brian Doughty and Hospice Whanganui's chief executive Karen Anderson for morning tea in the Victoria Ave shop's front window.

Boutique manager Jo Hodder said the occasion was an opportunity for people to come in to the shop to meet the Hospice Whanganui representatives and ask questions about the work Hospice does as well as have a look at the boutique.

"The people attending the morning tea support the values and beliefs of Hospice which cares for families as well as the people in Hospice," Hodder said.

"We're pretty excited about having live models in our window. Hospice shops across New Zealand are doing displays of some type to recognise Dilmah which has donated over nine million teabags to hospices across New Zealand since 1997. We will be in the draw to win a scrumptious morning tea for our volunteers."

The boutique has 29 volunteers on the roster to help run the store five-and-a-half days a week.

"We have an amazing team; they get in behind the concept of Hospice and support the fundraising that is happening all the time," Hodder said.

The hour-long morning tea event is at 10am on Monday, October 29, at 171 Victoria Ave.
