Pair take on head student roles

Head students at Taihape Area School for 2016 are Kelsey Eames and Liam Fellingham.

Both students said they were thrilled to be chosen as head students, especially as it had been a hotly contested vote.

Principal Richard McMillan said the two were a fine choice.

"We're very fortunate we have some wonderful students here. Liam and Kelsey will be excellent heads. I am very pleased."

Liam had moved to Taihape from Hamilton while he was still at primary school and Kelsey said she was from a tight-knit community and had gone to Mangaweka Primary School.

The two said they felt very honoured being selected and hoped to bring something new to the role.
