Wanganui's Earl Bamber has helped drive Porsche to victory in one of the world's most historic and toughest motor races, the Le Mans 24-hour race.
In the 83rd running of the race, Bamber teamed up with Nico Hulkenberg [Germany] and Nick Tandy [Great Britain to bring their Porsche 919 Hybrid home in first place.
The Wanganui driver's victory comes 49 years after Kiwis Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon's famous victory in a Ford GT40.
And another Kiwi driver was on the podium with Brendon Hartley - a member of another Porsche hybrid - finishing second.
