NZ Herald Afternoon Headlines | Government weighs response to cyber attacks and Greens co-leader rules out Winston Peters | Wednesday, February 25, 2026

All Blacks star player Damian McKenzie and his partner Georgia O’Sullivan have revealed their new baby’s name in a heartfelt Instagram post.

O’Sullivan, a 27-year-old marketer, and McKenzie, 30, shared the news on O’Sullivan’s social media with photos of the newborn.

“We welcomed Louie Lance McKenzie.

“We are so incredibly in love with our happy, hungry boy. Welcome home Prince Louie.”

Their first child was welcomed into the world earlier in February, with the news confirmed by the Gallagher Chiefs.

It comes just a week after Beauden Barrett and his wife, Hannah announced the birth of their third child.

The announcement has been met with celebrations from friends and followers.

“Congrats fam can’t wait to see Louie in his first chiefs kit,” the Chiefs rugby team wrote.

“Congrats team! Well done Mum,” added fellow All Black Anton Lienert-Brown.

The Waikato power couple only revealed the pregnancy on social media in October, after a family holiday in Fiji, saying the baby was due in February.

“Six months growing our biggest blessing 💛 Mum & Dad incoming February, 2026," O’Sullivan and MacKenzie captioned a photo showing the couple in a tropical setting.

O’Sullivan and McKenzie first confirmed their relationship through an Instagram post in 2024, which O’Sullivan captioned “a decade later”.

Earlier last year, McKenzie purchased a property south of Hamilton. He is understood to have officially taken ownership in May, with O’Sullivan believed to have moved into the house in June.

McKenzie was born in Invercargill, but he moved to Hamilton for rugby.

He made his provincial rugby debut for Waikato in 2014 and debuted for the Chiefs in 2015 and the All Blacks in 2016.

While playing rugby, McKenzie attended the University of Waikato, studying for a Bachelor of Communications.

O’Sullivan is the daughter of horse racing power couple Lance and Bridgette O’Sullivan.

Georgia has studied for a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Marketing and Business Management, at Victoria University of Wellington.
