Rotorua Central all rounder Jason Trembath has been selected as vice-captain in the Bay of Plenty Development XI to play Northern District under-19 at Mt Maunganui tomorrow.

The team will be led by Mount top-order batsman Ben Guild, who returns to captain the side after being unavailable in the last game against Hamilton because of work commitments.

Tauranga Boys College batsman Ben Musgrave has been rewarded for outstanding form in senior club cricket with selection also. The youngster attacked the ball at every opportunity against Cadets, posting 105 runs off just 59 balls, including 11 boundaries and three sixes.

Earlier this season he made a spectacular debut for the Bay Development side, blasting an unbeaten 115 against ND heavyweights Hamilton.

BOP Development XI teammate Greerton's Cam Neal smashed the ball to the boundary in the first two rounds of the Baywide T20 with 104 not out against East Bay United.

Mount bowler Mike Jones will bring plenty of firepower in his return to the Development side.

The former Auckland premier club player performed with distinction for BOP Development last season and was rewarded for his good form in the second eleven with promotion to BOP Fergus Hickey team against Poverty Bay in a two-day match in Gisborne.

Bay of Plenty Development v ND Under-19 at BOP Oval tomorrow: Ben Guild (captain), Mike Jones (Mt Maunganui), Kent Hodder, Tom MacRury, Cam Neal, Shane Wineti (Greerton), Ben Musgrave (Tauranga Boys College), Jason Trembath (vice-captain) Kyle Blanchard, Andrew Gibbs (Central), Prashant Dhanjee (BOP Indians), Brodie Gilroy (Katikati); Coach: Charles Williams.
