Soccer: Win a boost for Ngongotaha confidence

A win over second placed AFC Fury last week will have given Ngongotaha confidence going into its clash against table-topping Tauranga Old Blues at Stembridge Rd.

It is a critical game for the Villagers tomorrow and in front of supporters they are capable of taking three valuable points.

Captain Josh O'Sullivan, who has been in great goal scoring form, could be the key to a home win.

Meanwhile, Old Blues were surprisingly held to a draw by Tauranga City last week.

Both sides play attractive entertaining football and spectators should be treated to plenty of action.

Rotorua United are on the road travelling to Links Ave to play Tauranga City.

It has been a dismal season so far for United and with Tauranga just two places and five points ahead of them they will be desperate to make up ground.

AFC Fury have home advantage against an unpredictable Taupo side who after a 6-0 win over Whakatane Town, were beaten 5-0 in their last game against Tauranga City.

In other games, a resurgent Matamata Swifts play bottom of the table Otumoetai, Whakatane Town host Melville and Cambridge is at home against Waikato Unicol.
