Scots College from Wellington will make their first appearance in a national First XV rugby final after toppling traditional heavyweights Auckland Grammar.

The national top four competition began yesterday at Rotorua Boys' High School, with the final being played tomorrow.

Auckland Grammar went up against Scots College yesterday while Christchurch Boys' High School took on defending champions Hamilton Boys' High School.

Hamilton Boys' held on to defeat Christchurch 20-19 while Scots were simply too good for Auckland Grammar winning 39-22.

Scots will play Hamilton tomorrow at Rotorua Boys' High School at 2.55pm for the national title.
