Rotorua's Kahukura Rugby Club are two wins away from playing premier rugby next year.

The Baywide division one semifinals kick off tomorrow, with Kahukura on the road to Poroporo.

The winner of the match will book a place in the final at Centennial Park next weekend to play either Rangiuru or Te Teko.

If Kahukura win the final they will become the third Rotorua club to play in the Baywide premier division next year, alongside Rotoiti and Whakarewarewa.

However, it will be a tough task with Poroporo winning both contests between the sides this season, 33-26 in the round three and 34-22 in week 12.

In the premier competition tomorrow, Tauranga Sports will host Opotiki and Mount Maunganui will host Te Puke.

If the form book in the Bayfair Baywide premier rugby competition is any guide, Tauranga Sports will meet the Mount in next week's final at Tauranga Domain.

But then, what use is a form book come semi-final time, specially with a host of Steamers missing?

During the season, Tauranga Sports beat Opotiki 56-15 in round three and 29-24 in round 12, but have lost almost a dozen players to injury and representative duty.

Players ruled out of the semi-final clash include Carl Axtens, Pingi Taalapitaga, Steve Honey, Kane Hames and Keepa Mewett.

Opotiki have not lost any players to the Steamers and will go into the clash this weekend with plenty of confidence, considering they last tasted defeat on June 8.

The second semifinal between Mount Maunganui and Te Puke Sports is another tough one to pick.

The Mount won both the regular season meetings between the two teams by six-point margins.

Both teams are down on firepower, with Te Puke Sports losing standout lock Tim Bond and hooker Nathan Harris to Steamers duty, while the Mount will be without Kenny Lynn and Sam Beard for the same reason.

Baywide semi-finals tomorrow:

Baywide premier grade (games start at 2.45pm): Tauranga Sports v Opotiki (Tauranga Domain), Mount Maunganui v Te Puke Sports (Blake Park).

Baywide division one (games start at 2.45pm): Rangiuru v Te Teko (Centennial Park), Poroporo v Kahukura (Poroporo Park).
