Rotorua Boys' High School 2nd XV will host Tauranga Boys College 2nd XV in the match of the round when the second week of the Baywide Secondary Schools Rugby Competition kicks off tomorrow.

Rotorua Boys' High School 2nd XV coach Kieran Botha said he was excited for the upcoming match.

"We are looking forward to the battle. These are always tough games, with a long standing rivalry. Tauranga Boys are a quality team and we will need to be on our game come Saturday."

Tauranga Boys' College 2nd XV coach Steve Kelly was looking forward to being tested by the best teams in the Bay of Plenty this year.

"It is great to be playing in the first division this year and to be tested against the best teams from the Bay including Rotorua Boys' High School this weekend.

"We have some real potential in the side and we have a mix of older players and some up and comers to foster for our 1st XV in the future. We have a hard working forward pack and a backline that has some real threats, which co-coach Brad Fleming will continue to make great use of this year," he said.

In other local games Rotorua Boys' High School 3rd XV will take on Trident High School with John Paul College playing Tauranga Boys' College in Division 2.
