"Winning this title was an aim that we set ourselves at the beginning of the season," said Holt.
"The girls were very hungry to come out on top and the desire to win was clear on the court.
"The Australian teams definitely pushed us the hardest. Vipers were a very hard battle. In the game both teams gave everything in attack and defence. We were only up two goals at half-time and we powered through in the end to get the result.
"Also Northside was tricky. It was very much a game of two halves. Being all level at the break the girls had an opportunity to re-group and re-think what they were doing.
"We managed to take control and really showed our quality."
Holt, in her first season coaching the side, said there was"real potential" in the 10-player squad, made up of an even mixture of Year 9 and Year 10 students.
"This team's make-up enables me as a coach to play all the girls," she said.
"The pleasure of having such a versatile group of players is what sets this team apart and makes them easy to coach.
"If they keep focused and determined these girls could go far.
"It's a very talented group and they are developing into a very classy side that are hard to beat."
Rotorua Girls' High excelled in all areas during the tournament but especially in defence with Mahanawai Daniela, Te Mihiroa Tangira, Dubai Whata and Shadae Lemon described by Holt as an "unstoppable group".
"They showed such heart and never gave up," she said. "Mahanawai [wing defence] always defends and hunts for a purpose and has become one of the players that turns games for us, and she did that again here.
"Te Mihiroa [goal defence] was strong in the air and always available on attack. She had a strong presence in the game and communicated well.
"Dudai's [goal keep] height and versatility made our circle defence very strong, and she rebounded well giving our attacking end lots of ball.
"And Shadae [wing defence] was a great interchange option for us. She played with flair and worked so hard."
The Junior side added this victory to their recent 2016 Rotorua Netball Collegiate A grade title - finishing unbeaten in this competition.
And four of the members of the squad were also in the Rotorua Girls' High under-15 team which won the 2016 Bay of Plenty under-15 A grade championship.
