A gutted Georgia Dufty was looking forward to a better result at this weekend's Pub Charity Riverdale ODE Dunstan New Zealand Young and Junior Rider Championships in Rotorua, but a new jumping style did her no favours.
The Rotorua equestrienne said after an excellent dressage run she was feeling really
confident but a disaster during the show jumping section saw her fall back to last place.
Dufty said she and mount Charlton Tabloid nailed the dressage at the Rotorua A&P; Showgrounds two-day event.
"I won the dressage, but the show jumping went completely horrible and I ended up last. It was probably the worst show jumping she [her horse] had done in her life.
"I think it was the new things I was trying, but I went back to my old habits and hit far too many rails."
