"My key motivation in deciding to return as coach is to build an even better team than we had this season and continue to develop players. It gives me such a buzz," she said.
"We started the journey to develop a winning culture this year where our performance was on show on court each week and in trainings behind the scenes. I believe that we've just started the journey and there's plenty more opportunity to build on that foundation."
Growing and developing players living within the Waikato and Bay of Plenty is also a focus of her planning for 2013.
Both coaches were raised and educated within the region - Taurua in Taupo and Dearns in Rotorua and Tauranga and they both strongly believe in developing the talent that exists within the franchise.
"Ultimately we want to build local talent to be mentally and physically conditioned and court ready for this competition. That doesn't happen immediately and for some players it will mean being patient while we factor in succession planning for positions. It's an exciting time for anyone who wants to put their hand up and become identified," she said.
Taurua and Dearns are conducting trials for all positions to confirm the Magic squad for the upcoming ANZ Championship on October 13 at Aquinas College in Tauranga.
The 2013 Magic squad will be named on November 12.
