Carrington was also set to race in the final of her favoured K1 200m event late last night after dominating earlier in the weekend heats and semi-finals.
Carrington is competing at the event with the rest of the New Zealand kayaking team, in Europe to compete in three World Cup regattas.
In other results, the women's K2 pairing of Teneale Hatton and Rachael Dodwell struggled after a strong win in the semifinals. The pair finished ninth in the A final but have set themselves a new personal best time along the way.
Meanwhile, Ben Fouhy continued to show a good trend in his race results moving towards the A final of the K1 1000m.
In the final, Fouhy used his strengths and will be well pleased with his progress, finishing seventh.
