Lake View Golf Club has clinched a spot in the Bay of Plenty Men's Pennant Championship division next season by beating Omokoroa in the men's senior final at Rotorua Golf Club.
By lifting themselves out of the senior division, the Lake View men will be in the Pennant top-tier nextyear for the first time since the late 1990s.
After the morning foursomes, the team of Jordan Wells, Houston Te Puni, Milau Skudder, Mike Ryan, Tommy Tukiwhao and captain Dave Sander, held a useful 3-0 lead. By the 16th hole of the afternoon singles, Sander, Tukiwhao and Ryan, who was playing his brother Leo were all in unassailable positions and the match was over.
The Bay of Plenty Pennant competition starts again next February.
