Rotorua's Landyn Edwards.

It was a great result for the Bay of Plenty men's team at the Southland Invitational this year.

Landyn Edwards (Rotorua) finished second in the individual honours in what he described as horrible conditions.

I can relate to what the weather is like in the deep south as I was the professional there for three years and it's almost like clockwork - the weather turns ugly for the invitational every year.

Landyn is finishing off his traineeship as a greenkeeper at Lake View Golf and Country Club so he doesn't play as many tournaments as he used to, but shows he still has what it takes to play at the top level.

Other Rotorua players have also been named in the Bay of Plenty Toro Interprovincial team.

In the ladies interprovincial team, we see Heather Keefe has made the team once again this year and adds experience alongside Susan Lines who plays out of Te Teko but now lives in Rotorua.

Rotana Howard must have been a little unlucky to have missed selection.

The interprovincial was always one of my highlights of the year as an amateur golfer.

This year the men's and ladies teams look strong so we wait to see the results.

Internationally, Danny Lee finished off his year in style where he almost won a tournament.

A small fade in the back nine stopped him winning his first tournament on the PGA Tour but it's still a great finish. It's a shame there are not a few more tournaments this year as I feel he was finding some form but bring on 2015 for Danny Lee.

We have not seen much of Peter Lee at the club lately as he plays on the Australasian Tour learning his trade.

I was always told three years of hard yakka is required before you start making money on tour.

I hope everybody's golf is going well and drop into the shop anytime to see how I can help your golf, or visit my website www.100percentgolf.com.
