Football: Two at home for fans to view

Rotorua football fans are spoiled for choice tomorrow, with both Ngongotaha and Rotorua United having home games in the WaiBop Federation league.

At Stembridge Rd, last year's division two champions Ngongotaha, meet last year's division one champions Old Blues.

The Villagers have a two win-two loss record to sit mid table, while Old Blues who lost all but three of their championship team in the off season, have one win from four outings.

Rotorua United coach Neil Rush will be calling on his players to show resolve to register their first win of the season against Waikato Unicol at Neil Hunt Park.

It has been a disastrous start to United's campaign, but they got up to finish fourth after a bad start last season.

Last week Unicol who are in their first season in division one lost narrowly to Claudelands, who beat United 7-1, and beat Ngongotaha on their last visit to Rotorua.

Both games are likely to be close. Competition leaders Taupo are away to lowly Otorohanga and should win.

In other games Claudelands Rovers defend the Federation Challenge Shield against Tauranga Boys' College, Melville United who have been disappointing lately take on Otumoetai at Gower Park while AFC Fury host Whakatane Town.

Division 2: (Home teams first) Cambridge v Matamata, Clube Algeria v Tokoroa, West Hamilton v Te Awamutu and Tauranga City v Rotorua United.
