Rotoiti and Hinemoa will meet today during a big match-up in the Central Bay Softball women's competition.

Rotorua's new women's softball competition has taken off since starting again recently at Puketawhero Park with six teams.

Rotoiti and Hinemoa have emerged as strong sides this season after picking up convincing wins in the last round.

Rotoiti defeated I M TWPT 14-3 last Saturday and Hinemoa defeated Owhata United 10-1.

The two sides will do battle at 2pm today on diamond two at Puketawhero Park.

Other match-ups in the women's competition will see I M TWPT play Whakarewarewa and Owhata United play the Vixens.

In the men's competition, Falcons United will look to continue their dominance in the new competition when they play Whakarewarewa.

Only three teams compete in the men's division - Whaka, Falcons and Hinemoa. It is hoped more sides will enter in the future but, for now, the three sides will continue their round-robin matches. Hinemoa will play Whakarewarewa at 1pm followed by Falcons United playing Whaka at 3pm.
