After a positive event at Rally Canterbury the Cox Motorsport team of Rotorua's Sloan Cox and co-driver Malcolm Read are eagerly anticipating Round Four of the Brian Green Property Group New Zealand Rally Championship Rally Gisborne on Saturday .
With the extensive work and improvements being carried out on the Taslo Engineering Mitsubishi Evo X throughout the season, the car is now handling well and feeling nice to drive giving Cox a lot more confidence going into Gisborne Rally.
"With the increased speed we have gained this year I am really looking forward to Gisborne Rally as I thoroughly enjoy the roads. It is just a shame that the Motu stage is not being run this year as I found it to be a true rally stage and such a challenge," said Cox.
Read, who won this event as a co-driver in 2013 alongside Dylan Turner, is also looking forward to the event.
"Aside from the small issues we had at Canterbury Rally the speed was really comfortable. If we can carry that speed into the stages at Gisborne Rally and on stages that both Sloan and I really enjoy, we are aiming to finally get on the podium for this year."
