A first innings score of 132 all out was not enough for Bayleys Central Indians against Eves Realty Greerton in the Baywide Cup.

The match, played at Smallbone Park yesterday, was a reasonably short and sharp encounter. The home team took first use of the batting strip and were bowled out for 132. Ajay Kumar top scored with 36 and Greerton's Dion McCall did plenty of damage with the ball taking four wickets for just nine runs.

Josh Healey-Ormrod led his team's charge for victory with 34 not out, while Greerton's new recruit Umesh Ranaraja scored 26 runs in his team's five wicket win.

Element IMF Cadets premiers provided the entree for the clubs 40th Jubilee dinner on Saturday evening when they engaged in a run fest against Cooney Lees Morgan Tauranga Boys' College at the Tauranga Domain.

Cadets were asked to bat first after losing the toss and went on the rampage to reach 332 for the loss of eight wickets. Bay of Plenty representative batsman Joe Carter blasted an unbeaten 137 off just 106 balls, smacking 11 fours and five sixs in his innings.

Otumoetai College student Tim Pringle hit six fours in his total of 55 runs with Ruben Clinton also posting a half-century. Rhys Mischewski was the best of the Tauranga Boys' bowlers taking three wickets.

The Tauranga Boys' First XI made a valiant attempt to chase down the very big target, before being dismissed for 178. Matt Golding anchored his teams reply with a solid 71. Cadets skipper Jono Boult posted his team's best bowling figures of 3/29, while his Black Cap brother Trent, who was in town for the jubilee celebrations, also grabbed three wickets.

GM Painters Lake Taupo CC, who were playing at home at Owen Delaney Park for the first time this season, were forced to wave the white flag of surrender against New World Te Puke. The hosts were removed for a modest 121, which Te Puke chased down with seven wickets to spare.
