Rotorua cricketer Alastair Blackett made a stunning entrance at the ND One-Day tournament in December and tomorrow he will be back on duty for the Bay of Plenty development team.
In his December appearance against Hamilton, Blackett grabbed six wickets, as the Bay side swept into the title decider withfour wickets to spare.
The Bay of Plenty Development team travel to Cambridge to play their last game of the Basil McBurney Trophy. They are skippered by Te Puke captain Stephen Crossan.
Bay of Plenty enter the last round of the ND Development competition tied at the top of the standings with Northland, with victory at the Cambridge Square likely to give them at least a share of the ND title.
Meanwhile the first round of the BOPCA McNaughton trophy kicks off in Tauranga, with Geyser Sports taking on the only B Grade side in the competition, Grasshoppers, in one of the three games at Fergusson Park.
The McNaughton Trophy goes to the winner of the Baywide Reserve Grade knockout competition with eight teams starting the title race in round one.
The fourth game pits Lake Taupo Cricket Club against Taupo Old Boys.
■ Today Geyser City take on Sikh Sports Club WBOP at Boord Park in the Western Bay of Plenty Reserve competition while in the Rotorua Cricket Association Reserve Grade competition, Central take on Eastern Pirates and BOP Indians play Taupo Old Boys 1, both also at Boord Park. In the third game Lake Taupo take on Taupo Old Boys 1. Geyser City Reserves have the bye.
