It's a good time to sell your house here in Rotorua.

It's a good time to sell your house here in Rotorua.

2017 has really been a great year for our region. We are so glad we at Bayleys Rotorua get to be a part of the continued growth here in this world class city.

Our major industries have had a strong year over all. Forestry and tourism have led the way, followed by geothermal and agribusiness. It's also been exciting to see the growth in the retail sector, with plenty of development on the horizon.

It's also been encouraging to see our local business leaders looking to look after our future. Their focus on sustainability was clear at the recent Westpac Rotorua Business Excellence Awards. It was so encouraging to see ecological consultancy, Wildlands, take the supreme award for Business of the Year.

We don't have to look back to far to reflect on a time where things weren't as positive. Things have almost done a complete 180 in the last 4 years. Business confidence was down, house prices where stagnant and retailers were struggling. In 2017 that's been the total opposite.

As a real estate business it's been a wonderful time to be doing business here. Firstly, almost everyone who's purchased off us over the last few years has seen solid equity gains. Secondly, (and quite differently from much of New Zealand now) those moving here from out of town still see Rotorua as an affordable place to buy. A genuine win-win.

It's now, in real estate, that one of our region's biggest challenges lies. We have more jobs and more people moving to town, so demand for housing has increased. While subdivisions, like the 24 section, Baxendale, have come to market in 2017, they've sold like hot cakes. The demand has shown through in our results, with homes for sale continuing to get strong interest and sell well.

This all means that it's a good time to sell your home here in Rotorua. We also see this continuing into 2018, as our awesome city continues to go from strength to strength.

If you agree with us and think it's time to sell your home, give our team at Bayleys Rotorua a call on (07) 349 3210. We're a group of locals passionate about our region and making selling your home a great experience.
