Even if you're a regular luge rider, the trails take on a whole different look and feel in the twilight.

Even if you're a regular luge rider, the trails take on a whole different look and feel in the twilight.

Pack more into your summer holidays and ride the Skyline Rotorua Luge tracks in a whole new light, with extended opening hours until 10pm.

From 26 December to 6 February, 2017 (Waitangi Day), the luge tracks receive a special lighting makeover, so riders can test their skills and navigate the course for longer than ever before.

Skyline Rotorua Sales and Marketing Manager David Blackmore says the Night Luge extended hours takes the experience to a whole new level, while also allowing riders to beat the queues and fit more runs into their evening.

"Rotorua is an awesome place to be over summer, and us kiwi's like to get the most out of our days.

"Night Luging means locals and visitors alike can head up the hill later in the day, get into the action faster and receive some great summer deals - all while checking out the stunning twilight vista."

The Luge is a classic kiwi favorite that is the ultimate fast-paced family activity. It's great for all ages, with smaller children able to ride with adults.

"Even if you're a regular luge rider, the trails take on a whole different look and feel in the twilight, so it's definitely worth rounding up a group of family or friends to battle it out," Mr. Blackmore says.

The Zoom Zipline, Skyswing, Jelly Bean Gallery, INZpired retail store and Market Kitchen Café have also extended their opening hours for the same summer period, and will be open until at least 9pm, so visitors can get the full Skyline adventure experience.

Once you've had your adrenaline fix, wind down in wonderment as you explore constellations, look for a shooting star and discover planets invisible to the naked eye with Skyline's Stargazing experience.

Opened earlier in 2016, the stargazing facility is located at the top terminal just around the bend from the fast paced action, and features a stunning cedar observatory with a sliding roof and top-of-the line telescopes.

"At this time of year, the Rotorua night sky is truly spectacular and our guides are experts at navigating the sky with you for an out of his world experience - it's the perfect way to end a busy summers day," Mr. Blackmore says.

A number of special summer deals are available for Skyline's twilight activities including combo passes and special prices. Visit http://www.skyline.co.nz/rotorua/night-luge/ for more information.
