With Easter weekend just around the corner the annual debate of Easter trading crops up.

The law says shops must be closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday or risk being prosecuted.

Taupo and Queenstown are exempt from this rule and several bids have been made to allow Rotorua shops to open over this weekend.
