We let our cat out at 7.30am on February 18 and he didn't come back in for breakfast - we haven't seen him since.

He was not let out everyday and when we did let him out it was in the morning before breakfast and he would come back in for breakfast and be inside for the rest of the day.

He knows the area well so we can't understand how he would have gotten lost.

We have advertised in the paper, put flyers in letterboxes and asked our neighbours to check their garages but there has been no sign of him.

There is a big reward offered for his safe return, please I would like to know what has happened to him.

He is a light ginger and white, longhaired male cat, he is microchipped and was wearing a blue collar with a blue pawprint tag. Please phone/text 0274 769 481 with any information.

There are a few missing cats and dogs in Rotorua so if you find a stray animal can you please let the SPCA know, they can scan them and see if they have a microchip and they can then be returned to their owners quickly.

There is also www.petsonthenet.co.nz and www.trademe.co.nz which have free lost and found advertisements and I urge anyone that has found a pet to put it on these websites as when a pet is missing the owners are checking these websites daily for their pets.

I am hoping that in writing this story that at least one missing animal will now be found and returned to it's owner.
