Anzac weekend at The Blue Baths saw some of The Bay of Plenty's most outstanding talent perform during the CreationFest's first round of auditions.

The judging panel were entertained all weekend by singers, dancers and musicians vying for spots in the Live Performance section of CreationFest. More performers are gearing up to do it again this weekend.

Darlene Mohekey, live performance co-ordinator, said she was blown away by the talent and bravery of those auditioning.

"It's not easy to audition for something of this calibre, particularly when it's not in the safety of your school or with a group of friends."

Singing duo Aroha Te Whau and Sam Aoake-Austin agreed.

"We were really nervous. We're not used to doing close-up auditions."

But the 17-year-olds encourage their peers to audition.

"The CreationFest is definitely great for emerging artists. It allows them a new experience and to show off their talent."
