Works see Tauranga Direct Rd down to single lane

Work to upgrade and maintain State Highway 36 - the Tauranga Direct Rd - will see traffic down to a single lane for at least a week.

Road works get under way today in the Mangorewa Gorge from the boundary of the bridges at the bottom of the gorge to the top of the gorge.

Work will be carried out by Downer EDI and the public have been asked to use an alternative route because delays are expected.
