A woman has been killed in a single car crash on State Highway 41 near Turangi-Tokaanu late last night.
Senior Constable Dave Frazer, from the Taupo Police Serious Crash Unit, said the vehicle was travelling north on State Highway 41 at approximately 11:15pm, when the driver lost control on a bend.
Mr Frazersaid the initial investigation indicated the car had spun across the road and rolled. He said the 21-year-old driver, from Wellington, was the sole occupant of the car.
It was too early in the investigation to comment on any other details in relation to the crash.
