After a successful Winter Bash event, Pro Fresh will being coming back to Rotorua for a Halloween event on October 29.

The Pro Fresh Winter Bash saw 280 youth dance up a storm to a line-up of DJs last Friday night.

It was held at the Energy Events Centre and sets were played by DJ FLY, DJ ToneDef, DJ Sanka and DJ Doogle.

This was the first time Pro Fresh had come to Rotorua.

Pro Fresh director Jaymz MacKenzie-Hooper said 280 was a good number for their first time in a new location, and they normally aimed for 250 as a starting point.

He said those who attended seemed to like what the DJs played, which was mainly hip hop music.

"Everyone had good feedback on the music played that night."

The snow effect machines were a hit, adding some extra excitement to the event, he said.

He said everyone who turned up had a good attitude and there were no problems.

Mr MacKenzie-Hooper said the venue was great and very helpful, helping them out on the night as they had a new ticket system, due to being in a new town with a new venue.

If the Halloween event went well, they may do a summer party later in the year, but are taking it "one event at a time".

Mr MacKenzie-Hooper said the DJs they had at the Winter Bash used to do similar events and had enjoyed coming back together.

They also enjoyed being in their home town and playing for the local youth, with three of the four DJs who played having coming from here, he said.

"Thank you from us for everyone helping to make it a success. We look forward to coming back."

Pro Fresh events specifically target young people under 18 and are drug and alcohol-free.
