Friday June 1: St Lukes lunchtime concert. Featuring the Western Heights High School Forte and Cantilena choirs. Conducted by Evelyn Falconer with Allison Zanelli on the piano. From 12.15pm to 12.45pm at St Lukes Church. Entry by gold coin or donation.

Saturday June 2: Rotorua's Taiko Japanese Drummers perform in the City Focus for an hour from 1pm.

Saturday June 2: Blues for Youth with Lloyd Spiegel. Open to schools only. Students will learn about the blues from an accomplished international blues performer and educator. From 1.30pm to 2.30pm at the Rotorua Convention Centre. No charge. For information call (0800) 836 837.

Saturday June 2: Rotorua North Rotary Club Charity Market. Open every Saturday next to the playground in Kuirau Park from 7am to 1pm. A huge range of produce, food, goods and entertainment, with proceeds going back to the Rotorua community.

Saturday June 2: The Friends of the Rotorua Library book sale. From 9am-1pm in the Old Tea Kiosk in Kuirau Park. Thousands of books at bargain prices with all proceeds going to Rotorua District Library.

Saturday June 2: Card making classes. At the Linton Park Community Centre on Kamahi Place. From 2pm to 4.30pm. Come along and learn new skills, make new friends. Beginners welcome. $10 for materials. For information call Debbie on (07) 348 0453.

Saturday June 2 -Sunday June 3: Underwater Hockey North Island Inter Club Championship Tournament. At the Aquatic Centre from 9am to 5.30pm both days. There's 18 teams from Auckland to Wellington competing with Rotorua represented by two junior teams.

Saturday June 2-Sunday June 3: The Soundshell Market. Open for two days over Queen's Birthday Weekend. Crafts, souvenirs, variety, imported products, antiques, curios and collectibles. From 9am-3pm at the Rotorua Lakefront. Plenty of free parking and free entry. For enquiries call (07) 332 5782.

Sunday June 3: Chamber Music New Zealand presents Sergey Malov and Michael Houstoun. Featuring music by John Psathas, Brahms and Franck. At the Rotorua Convention Centre from 2pm. Cost is $30 on the door. For information call (0800) 836 837 or email ticketing@rdc.govt.nz.
