Waikite are well represented in the Bay of Plenty Volcanix wider training squad named today.
A youthful squad, including seven from the Baywide runner's up side, have been named and will start training this week for their Mitre 10 Farah Palmer Cup campaign.
"We have selected a very young sidebut we are excited by that as we believe this side are capable of putting in the hard yards to get rewards," said Volcanix coach Brendon Webby.
"We have a lot of hard work to do over the next few weeks which will include pre-season hit outs against Manawatu, Hawkes Bay and Counties Heat."
The final team selection will kick off their season proper against Northland on August 6 at the Rotorua International Stadium at 2.00pm.
