"They've always been a bogey team," said Haua of the Swifts. "I think we dropped points to them in both games last season, and possibly the season before as well."
He said he would be reminding his players of that fact.
"We don't want a repeat."
Ngongotaha sit on top of the table unbeaten with 49 points from 16 wins and one draw. The Swifts are third, 11 points behind. They are separated by Cambridge on 40.
Haua said the team set some high targets for the season, and that had kept them motivated to press on.
"We didn't want to concede any goals for the year and score 100 goals and anything less than that wasn't going to be good enough for us and that was the drive for us to push on each week and try and have the perfect season."
Ngongotaha are coming off an 8-0 rout of bottom placed Tauranga City, a game that provided the opportunity for coach Shane Davis to rest a few of his players.
"We gave some of the younger ones the chance to step up and show us what they've got. Some of the players had slight knocks but they should all be 100 per cent this weekend."
Ngongotaha will be putting the Federation Shield on the line for the penultimate time in tomorrow's game.
Ngongotaha have an interesting run in to the end of the season. As well as two games against Matamata, they face Cambridge and fourth placed Otumoetai away and Waikato Unicol, the only side to have taken points from them so far this season
Rotorua Utd are also at home this weekend, taking on Waikato Unicol at Neil Hunt Park.
The teams fought out a 0-0 draw when they met in Hamilton earlier in the season.
Both games kick off at 2.45pm.
